The Animal Baby Name Trend – Cute, Or Cringe-y?

Almost everyone will agree that babies are synonymous with exponential cuteness and totally addictive cuddles. The same can be said of fuzzy bears, teensy kitties, and lil’ birdies — but does that mean that, by virtue of this parallel, naming our offspring after their four-legged (or winged) counterparts should be a legitimate thing? Apparently – yes.

Plenty celebs have deigned it fit to bestow animal names upon their beloved babes, so naturally, the rest of the world can follow suit – or, in keeping with the whole creaturely theme – make like sheep and keep up with the hashtag.

Snarky derision aside, the beasty kingdom does actually have some pretty gorgeous monikers to appropriate for human use (and at least this kind of thievery from Nature is more compliment than ecological threat, so your conscience is salved; if only on this count – naming your kid Dingo could very well come back to bite you).
