So, a bunch of us were talking potty training at the weekend and just before I checked out of a very boring conversation, someone mentioned something about disposable potties. Apparently they actually do exist!
For any parent who has hazarded a day out during potty training, you’ll know that it’s risky business. Newly trained bladders always operate at the last second and hauling along spare clothing (in abundance) is a necessity rather than a mere precaution.
Some parents opt for nifty little potties that can be taken out and about – insert a disposable potty liner and as far as mess and fuss goes, minimal is the operative word. But imagine an actual potty that you could throw away? Believe it or not, they’re pretty tough to find in spite of my mummy pal’s assertion that there is indeed such a thing.
Amidst endless search results pertaining to disposable potty liners I found a gem and its name is Emergency Toddler Potty Disposable Kids Training Flipup Toilet Travel Potty. It’s portable, disposable and biodegradable. Festival season here we come!
The potty comes in packs of three and folded up measures the size of a palm, so you can carry it in handbag, glove compartment or even a pocket. When your little one is popping for a wee (or poo) and no toilets are in vision, the portable potty simply flips open and is good to go. The idea is to use it, fold it back up, and dispose of the whole potty. Use a clean new potty each time. It also comes in really cute designs to entice even the most suspicious new toilet user.
