Healthy Latte for Preggie Mummies

If you’re a coffee shop junkie pregnancy can be hard-going; but just because caffeine is rationed doesn’t mean a delicious latte is off the menu. Try this gorgeous make-at-home cuppa that’s both comforting and full of good things for expecting mamas.

This turmeric tea latte invokes the warm spiciness of chai, and is also a great liver cleanser. For pregnancy in particular, the ginger eases indigestion wrought by a burgeoning baby bump. Swap out your regular coffee or tea for this golden deliciousness.


1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon honey, to taste

1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1-2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger, to taste)

1 5-inch cinnamon stick (or 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon)

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)


Place a small saucepan over low heat. Add milk, honey, and spices and whisk well.

Once steaming hot, turn down the heat a little and stir every now and then for around ten minutes. Do not allow to boil.

Remove from heatand add vanilla and coconut oil. Strain excess spices from milk if you prefer.

Use a frother for the full latte experience—although it tastes just as amazing without!
