How to make home-made chicken nuggets for kids – Delicious, healthy and simple to make! Chicken nuggets are a firm favourite among kids, although some of the frozen, pre-packed options are not exactly brimming with nutritional value and taste!
If your little ones have a partiality for chicken nuggets then follow this simple recipe and make delicious and nutritional home-made chicken nuggets for half the cost of supermarket options.
You will need:
2 chicken breasts, cubed
½ cup flour
½ cup cornmeal
½ cup milk
½ tsp black pepper
11/2 tbs seasoning salt
2 tbsp canola oil
How to make home-made chicken nuggets
Mix the flour, cornmeal, pepper and seasoning salt into a large plastic bag.
Mix the milk and egg well in a medium-size bowl.
Place the pieces of cubed chicken into the milk and egg mixture and make sure the surface of the chicken is thoroughly coated in the chicken.
Then place the chicken in to the coating mix in the plastic bag. Shake the bag so that the coating mix coats the chicken evenly.
Heat some olive oil in a skillet over a medium heat hob.
Place the pieces of chicken cubes in the skillet and cook on a medium heat until the whole of the chicken is golden brown. Turn the chicken over occasionally to ensure that it is cooked right the way through.
Serve with various healthy and delicious options, such as salad, cheesy mash potato, cauliflower cakes or rice with turmeric to make it a bright yellow colour and considerably more healthy!
