How mums-to-be can save money on baby essentials

The latest research by NetMums.com and Guardian Money suggests that first time mums-to-be- are spending an average of £1,000, and one in 20 new mums is spending in excess of £3,000, on baby ‘essentials’.

Wow!

In fact, a third of mums are blowing budgets on baby essentials, which can’t be good for family finances.

In response to the aforementioned stats My Favourite Voucher Codes did a basket comparison to find out which baby essentials retailers voucher codes offer best value for money.

After comparing `like for like` products – BabyWise Supervent Cot Mattress, Europe Baby Como White Co, Mountain Buggy Swift Stroller in Chilli and Besafe Izi Go Red/Grey Infant Carrier Car Seat 2014 – that Baby’s Mart offers the best value and is £11 cheaper than Baby and Co and £8.49 cheaper than Baby and Toddler Word.

The study is not a massive one but the point is poignant; if parents could save as much as £43.49, simply by comparing prices from just three stores and visiting My Favourite Voucher Codes to get a voucher, then imagine how much they could save if they took the time to shop around an do an even comparison exercise?

It’s best not to express the excitement of a new baby in the form of a spending spree (if you can’t really afford it) – rather work out what baby essentials you need, what you can afford and then find out what stores do the best deals; on the High Street or Online.

N’est pas?
